So much to cover but I will try and cover a few things.  Life has been a little hectic and busy for sure!  The Premier Designs Jewelry Show went great!  Sold almost $1000 and scored myself $366 of jewels for free!  Can't beat that!!  In addition to that, my Premier Designs Consultant, Elizabeth Greene, agreed to donate 10% of her proceeds to Race for the Cure which is this Saturday!  I was expecting maybe a $20 donation....Nope, these girls make good money on all those jewels, I got a $50 donation from her.  That was 10% of her take on my show.....that was great!

Cancer Awareness Month: I will be at Komen Race for the Cure bright and early on Saturday morning. 10.30.10 Please help support finding a cure. Help allow another person celebrate another birthday! https://komenknoxville.donordrive.com/index.cf...m?fuseaction=donate.start&destination=P&eventID=507&participantID=12183

A view from atop the roof of Biltmore!
This past Saturday I took off to Biltmore with a couple friends to enjoy the beautiful fall colors from atop the roof of Biltmore.  It was such a beautiful day.  The colors were great.
Beautiful but I sure would not want to use these each day!
The Gardens, always so beautiful
In the midst of all of that we celebrated Starla's 13th birthday.  I can't believe she is already 13....that is just crazy.  She is like 13 going on 40!  I so miss being a kid.  I tell the kids all the time that they are going to miss it, to stop being in such a hurry, of course I am sure they listen to that as well as we listens to our parents.  ha ha ha
The house is decorated for Halloween of course I am not sure that will do any good.  This stinking town is so screwed up.  When Halloween falls on Sunday they always want to change it to Saturday.  Well this year on a Thursday, front page of the paper, WE WILL NOT TELL PEOPLE WHEN THEY CAN CELEBRATE A HOLIDAY, Halloween is on Sunday the 31st (as if should be).   Well then on Friday - HALLOWEEN WILL BE CELEBRATED ON Saturday the 30th.....  HELLO!   Could you at least make up your flipping mind.  So needless to say you may have trick-or-treaters Sat, Sun or BOTH!   I have Race for the Cure Sat morning and then I think I had been signed up to take Starla & Jeramy on a Ghost Hunt Sat night...guess we will wait and see.  Needless to say, decorations are in place and I finally got my jack-o carved!
Spooky Pirate Pumpkin aka JOHN the Pirate (says mom)
Friday night is the Grand Opening of FOXEY MOXEY FITNESS & EVENTS, LLC.   They will be teaching Zumba Thirller in the parking lot for FREE!  You can also purchase raffel tickets for a chance to win 20 Free Zumba Visits.  If you are local you should check it out ~ 6 pm - 10 pm.  I will paste below the flyer I did for her.  Ryan Kelley is the owner (Ryan from season 2 of The Biggest Loser.)  She is a great girl that has really taken what she learned on the show, used it in real life and is now sharing it with the rest of the world!! YAY!

Wow....what a week it has already been and Wednesday is just getting started!  Please keep my friends Eliz & Michael Greene & family in your thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks.  Michael's  father lost his battle with cancer yesterday morning at 9am.  I know they have a very tough road ahead of them and you can never have too many prayers and good thoughts!  They have been wonderful friends to me over the years and I am very thankful to have them in my life.

Work....well has been work.  Nothing too special same ole same ole.  I think my sister's kids are really starting to heal and recover from all they have been through with their father and that is just amazing!  Jeramy is in 10th grade and get this....LOVES SCHOOL!  That just makes me grin ear to ear, I wish I had enjoyed it like he does.  Starla also brought home her best ever grades this last grade card....Wooo Hooo!  I am so proud of both of them for sure.  They are just such amazing little people.  Yes I still call them little even though at 15 he is just about 6'2" and at (next week she will be) 13 she is like 5'5"-5'6"!  They are both bigger than me.  I love them, love them and hope that they only continue to learn, be loved and grow into the amazing people I know they will be.

I have a friend Ryan who has just done amazing things.  She was on season 2 of the Biggest Loser (which mind you I did not watch...)  My sister talked about this inspirational local girl with such passion that I just had to get to know her.  Well years later here we are and I have gotten to know her.  The more I know her the more I find I like about her.  This girl doesn't stop.  No matter what seems to be thrown her way, no matter what speed bumps she rolls across she just keeps on truckin'!  I think it is wonderful.  I am excited also to have the opportunity to work with her to promote her new business, Foxey Moxey Fitness & Events, LLC.  I have flyers and a big 8' banner on the way for her big "Grand Opening" and I can't wait to see them.  WBIR Live at Five stopped by and filmed at her new studio yesterday morning - WAY TO GO RYAN!

I met with a new client yesterday and we signed the contract to set up her new website and went over some proofs for the new business cards and logo.  Soon everyone will get to learn more about The Chocolate Laides!  They are such a nice, wonderful group of people that I am excited to get to work with.  Truly, truly nice!  The website will be nothing super flashy or overpowering but will be fun and of course filled with chocolate!  They are also right down the road from my home which could cause an issue with my waistline if I am not careful!  lol

Saturday is my Premier Show for Race for the Cure.  I am hoping that it goes well as portions from the sales will go to support my Race for the Cure which is coming up on October 30th!  Yes, that is soon.  I just can't believe how soon.  It seems like just yesterday I was telling mom how the yellow flowers on the bush next to the heat/air unit were so pretty when it first started to bloom and now I am thinking how pretty it is that the fall colors are starting to show and hoping we get a little more rain so they trees will be pretty a bit before they shed their leaves for winter.  I love fall though, it is by far my favorite time of year!

My Spooky Bistro
A little more decorating at the house this weekend and a little cleaning which I must get finished these next couple nights!  Hannah one of the little girls I wrote about before that was in the fire in NC got to come home and spend some time this weekend with one of her dearest friends and they  had such a good time.  She will get to return to school soon, still wearing a protective suit be she and her siblings still have a long road ahead of them so please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers as well!

I still have my Thirty-One Online Catalog show going on so Ladies get your orders in before we close it out and email if you have any questions!!  http://www.mythirtyone.com/shop/catalog.aspx?eventId=E321483&from=DIRECTLINK

BOO!

So, I have not updated much this past week, it has been a little hectic.  We the last 2 weeks of Sept in my family that are filled with Birthdays!  last Sunday we did the family birthdays at mamaw's and then Tuesday mine and my dad's at mom's house, Thursday Julie and I headed off to Sevierville for a little shopping and of course, birthday dinner.  (Oh my, if you go to Olive Garden they give you this massive cake for your birthday, no one person could just sit and eat it....)  Saturday I was up at 6am, took Gracie to the vet and then by 9 was headed to Turkey Creek with Ligia.  It was a beautiful day and we parked the car at 9:45am and walked!!  Well we walked until about 3 when we had to crossover to the other side so we moved the car at that point.  It was nice though.  We walked and shopped a bit, walked to lunch, enjoyed a sangria swirl margarita (yum-o) and then walked some more after lunch.  That sort of helps you not feel so bad about lunch....he he  We got home a little before 7 and I was worn out!  Sunday was just a lazy day.  I made some attempt at decorating but didn't get very far.  Never fear though, it will be done in time for my Premier Designs Home Show on the 16th!

My spooky wine cabinet...  :o)

A little spooky for Gracie

Table runner I picked up at World Market Sat.

My oh so helpful assistant....LOL

So, I am getting a little closer to my goal for Race for the Cure at end of month so I am excited about that.  Every $1 helps for sure!!  I am also doing a Thirty-One Catalog Show for a girl I grew up with.  She has even sent up a direct link website some anyone, anywhere can order and it ships straight to them!!  It is great!  I did a show last year and it was great this time of year, the time of year when everyone starts Christmas shopping!  I know it seems crazy but Christmas is fast approaching.  All the stores are filling up with Christmas trees and all sorts of goodies!  If you don't know anything about Thirty-One they are actually a business founded by a woman named Cindy Monroe and built around Proverbs 31.  There is a large variety of items and you can have just about anything in the catalog personalized!  Here is the direct link to shop for my show and there is also a catalog you can view, write down the patterns you want and embroidery styles and then just order straight from the website and it will ship to you! If you want the October special (image below) simply put it in your car and if you have spent $31 the price will be adjusted automatically!  You don't have to enter any special codes or anything like that! EASY!! http://www.mythirtyone.com/shop/catalog.aspx?eventId=E321483&from=DIRECTLINK

So....things have been hectic lately and I have not done a great job at updating.  Today I can really say, thank the LORD for Fridays!  I am so glad it is finally here!  So, the bronchitis seems to be slowly creeping it's way out of my life....YAY!  On Tuesday I met with a new client!  They called me back today and I will be meeting with them again on the 6th to get the ball rolling!  I will be doing their website (which all I can say is - it will cause you to have cravings!) and then I will be designing their new business cards, rack cards and of course working with them on a new logo for all of this.  I am so excited to start working with them.  They are really great group of people and I just know we are going to enjoy working together.  Once we get the ball rolling you will all get to learn a little more about them.

So, I am considering getting one of those GPS chips for my wallet as well as one of those dog collar shockers that I can toss in my purse because I am almost positive that someone is out to take what little bit of money I have.  Today I checked my bank account after making my deposit yesterday afternoon.  My deposit was MIA.  Called the bank and they were as confused as me!  (now that scared me)  So they finally called back, said they still had no clue what had happened that they had my deposit ticket but could not find my money anywhere in the system so they put the money in my account and we may never know.  On the upside my stomach is not hurting quite as much now.  So in the midst of all of this I went to pick up lunch.  It was $5.81, I gave the gal $20.00 and she gave me back $7.65 ~ UM Hello.....I am no rocket scientist but I thought I made that pretty simple, all she had to do was give me $15.00 even.  That does not even require her to count.  What is it in the air today?  Whatever it is needs to vacate the premises!

I got a little "happy gift" from mom today when she stopped by my office.  I love them!  I stuck them on the fridge at home during my lunch break....CUTE!

Love, Love!  Thank you Mom!

I am having my Premier Jewelry Show on the 16th and it will be here before you know it!  I am still waiting on a couple more outside orders to come in but hoping they get here in time so I can meet my pre-show goals!  It looks like I will have a decent turn out as well so it should be a lot of fun!  My consultant Elizabeth J. Green is also ordering some new Business Cards and Coordinating Catalog Stickers from me so even better I have another new client!  Also, Asheville Girls, keep this in mind SHE WILL TRAVEL!  If you are interested in doing a show sometime let me know.  We are just a little over an hour from you so a fun weekend show would be great!  Just let me know and I can give you her #.  Get lots of free Jewelry for you and even pick up some Birthday or Christmas presents free!!  Does it get any better?

Adore Her!

My Pampered Chef girl is Julie aka Juliebean and I am working on her cards.  Once I have them I will be posting hers as well.  I can't tell you how much Christmas shopping I accomplished just with my "free" stuff when I did her show last year in November.  It was perfect timing!  Juliebean and I are doing dinner one evening next week for my birthday and I can't wait!  We need a Girls Night Out bad!   We have both been so busy lately.  We will have a great time!   Sunday we will be doing a get together at Mamaw's house for Uncle David's, Aunt Lisa's and my birthday!  Sept is popular in my family.  Tuesday night we will be having dinner at Mom's house for mine and my Dad's birthday.  A week full of lunches and dinners will keep us all busy for sure!

Tonight, I am thinking my house really needs some cleaning to be happening and I am really thinking I HAVE to go to the grocery store at some point.  I have not been since before labor day!!  I am going broke and tired of eating out for sure!!  I am just not a fast food person.  I get sick of it really quick.  Tomorrow I am off to get my hair done which is oh, I dunno about 6 weeks OVERDUE!   LOL  I am excited for that as well.

Fall is here although it is still 90 around here I am hoping for a cooler week for my Birthday week!

Well time to finish a few things up before calling it a day!  Hope everyone has a beautiful weekend!

68 SECONDS........

WOW!   Did you know that somewhere in the world

a woman dies from breast cancer Every 68 seconds?

So.....

1 Day = 86,400 Seconds
86,400/68 = 1,270.59 Lives Lost Per Day

I am pretty sure this is still sinking in with me!  I mean every minute that goes by some amazing person, someone's loving wife, mother, sister, friend, neighbor, co-worker is dying.  How do we lose a person, a living, breathing human being every 68 seconds and just do nothing about it?  I just can't fathom that.

If you are unable to help, please pass it along to others you know that may be able to help.  It has never been more clear to me how much every single $1.00 bill helps!  The price of a soda or a candy bar can help save lives!

During one of our morning walks! (pic by my nephew)
Fall.....I can smell it in the air....I think it will soon be settled in. YAY!  This is a short week for me.  My Monday was actually Wednesday.  I will take it though!!  We had a good trip and I will update more pictures soon.  I did come home with a fever, sore throat and all that fun stuff.  Hope it will be gone by the end of the weekend though.  Gracie is doing better from her trip to the vet.  She is still on her meds and hopefully it will take care of everything.  She was my walking partner every morning at the beach!  She loves it!

Yesterday was a busy day at work as I had to get payroll done for the week and caught up from Friday & Tuesday.  It made it go by quickly though which was nice.  Today at lunch I am off to meet a perspective client and show them a sample item.  I am really excited about this project and hoping that it all works out.  If so, I can share it with everyone.  For the time being....everyone keep their fingers crossed!!  This could be a really big thing for me and really help get my name out to more people.

Tonight I am having dinner with mom and a friend of mine in hopes of finding him a new home.  Another sell this year would be great for mom.  The economy has for sure not been nice to the Real Estate community this year.  It will be good to see it pick back up!

That is really all there is for now.  Just a quick little update.  Here is a pic of my nephew.....Good gosh....I can't believe he is a sophomore in high school!  Of course in this picture I can't believe he is only 15.....they sure do grow up quick!!

My Gracie on the way home...YAY!

Friday!  Yes, I am well aware that today is Thursday but for me it is Friday.  A very much needed Friday.  It is currently 2:30 and I would do just about anything if I could get it to be 4:30 with the blink of an eye today.  What an evening.  I got home yesterday and poor Gracie looked like she had tried to gnaw her little leg off.  Oh my, I saw it and just wanted to cry so I called the Animal Hosp down the road (that's her normal vet too) and rushed her down there.  They had to shave 4" of hair off her little leg....boo!  Well they call it a "hot spot" and they said it was either from an allergy flare up or she was bitten by a spider or stung by a bee.  :o(  They gave her a steroid shot and an antibiotic.  Of course it is a new one and a liquid one!  Uggghhh.....so you would have all gotten such a kick out of me last night.  I had to sit in the floor and pretty much put my little girl in a head lock to get the medicine in her.  It is a workout!  She is good with pills, not such a fan of liquid so it takes some real extra effort.  I didn't sleep much so when I got tired of tossing and watching early news I got up, go ready, stopped and got gas and breakfast and came to work.    Above is a snap shot of my baby on the way home from the vet.  She loves car rides like crazy!

Today has been very long, very busy, very stressful and well just a bit annoying.  I am going on 100 different directions, dealing with an office PC that I promise if not going to make it much longer if it does not start to work properly and people that just seem to no matter what the reason, cause or need refuse to work well with others.  Compromise people, it is really not so hard.  Just try and focus and realize that there are multiple people in this world.  Everyone would benefit much more by at least trying to make an effort to work well with others.  I know....good luck with that one right!

On the other side....I could not be more pleased that today is my Friday.  I need it, need it, need it!!!!  The past few months my life has become way too stressful.  I am only 31 but I swear I am aging on a daily basis.  I am hoping the extended weekend is a nice break allowing at least some temporary relief.

I hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable extended weekend!!  Make the most of it!!

UT Vols first game is Sat and they have decided to put it on PPV so I will not be watching it.  I will be checking in for updates though.....Let's hope this new coach can actually coach!!  V-O-L-S Go Vols Go!

Oh my.....YAY for short weeks!  I sure do need this long weekend coming up.  I am so, so ready for it!  Friday night I was really  just drained and decided to do nothing....Saturday I had lunch with my pirate friend down at Black Oak.  There was such a nice breeze I really could have sat there by the water all day long.  Of course as soon as I hit the top of the hill the breeze was no more.  I ran a few errands and then home for a bit.  We had a cookout at Sally's Sat night.  Sunday was really a lazy day!  I went to the grocery store early then home to do laundry, catch up on some shows and well spent a lot
of time in these-------->
<3 my fuzzy ugg flops!

Yes, I even let my happy self where them to mom's house for dinner...ha ha ha

Um..that's OK, it's a Rental!
So yesterday I dropped my car off to have the side painted where a sheet of steel fell on it back in Feb.  The rental car guy was 30 minutes late and then refused to drive over 40 so almost 90 minutes later I was back at work.  This is now my new ride for the next few weeks...better to put miles on it than mine though...he he he  Elizabeth & Michael will totally get that caption under the rental.  :o)

Had a good lunch catching up with a friend and then back to the office.  After work I worked on my ads that I am looking to have out in October. (Total of 2, for two different local publications).  Thank you to my dear friend Susan Peterson for letting me steal a pic of her darling little girl to use in my ad.

Then I got dinner ready but decided to go walk for a bit before eating.  It was not as hot as it has been but I would still like it to be a bit cooler for sure!  Today I got to work, no internet at first and then the realization that it was the 31st of the month and I had for the first time ever just flat out forgotten to get the tag renewed for my car.  After a brief moment of "Oh crap" style panic I then recalled that I am not driving my car.  Dropped it at the shop where nobody will be driving it so luckily it is all good!  ha ha ha  Now, I just gotta remember to get that done after the long weekend so I will have it when I do get my car back!  I decided to go for the "good start" this morning and had a big huge apple for breakfast when I got to work.  I mean really, they are supposed to be filling and give you energy....I am afraid it has done neither.  BOO!  It is only 10:30 and I am like starved....this is just nuts!

I am still working on Race for the Cure.  I am at 41% of my fund raising goal right now but still have a way to go.  Every single $1 helps and is so very much appreciated.  You can Click Here To Support Me In Race For The Cure all donations go directly to the Komen Foundation and are tax deductible.

Well that is the update for now kiddos.  I will be happy to share more when I have more.  :o)  I hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far....just keep telling your self..."It's a short week!"   "It's a short week!"   "It's a short week!"   "It's a short week!"

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Oh my.....and it is only Tuesday!  I mean Monday's stink, lets all just face it, we know it.  Yesterday in particular was a yucky day for me and well it just happened to fall on a Monday making it a big fat double whammy!  So needless to stay I clearly started the week off wishing for Friday before it had even started.  Situations are not always what we want and we do the best to deal and move on which is what I sort of felt like I was doing all day long yesterday.  Full or ups and downs for sure.  I was briefly reminded that there are some truly genuine, caring people out there when a friend of mine heard is little girl broker her arm at school and he literally just dropped everything, picked up, left NC and headed to GA to be with her.  I mean I was in a car accident at 16 and well since I was still breathing mine just went about his daily routine and saw me whenever it was he got home that evening. Oh well move on Whatever.  I was glad to see such genuine care and concern in someone.  Someone that would do whatever necessary to brighten the day of the one he loves so dearly.  Sweet!  I mean apparently there are 2 or 3 left in world.

On the other side of that I was also filled with reminders yesterday that the moment you get excited, the moment you think someone has opened their eyes and stepped out of the "bubble" they call life and have turned over a new leaf......Oh wait, that is no new leaf at all.  It is simply the glare from the sun or gloom from the overcast day that made that leaf look like a new one but it was just your eyes playing tricks on you.  Not a thing had really changed! Oh well, guess the thought was nice while it lasted and so once again Oh well, move on, whatever.

Today started off with a lovely Workers' Compensation Audit.  Yes, an audit.  What flipping joy that is.  To add to that my allergies are so awful that until the auditor left and I could take my contacts out and clean them once again my vision was horribly blurry.  I had to restart my computer 3 times before they arrived just so I could get some work done.  Seriously, it is very frustrating to try and work and not be able to because your computer belongs in the middle of the highway awaiting the next 18 wheeler that would like to take the pleasure in putting it where it belongs!  Regardless, I put a smile on and was oh so super friendly until it was over.  I mean really, you don't want to irritate any type of auditor for any reason.  They will stick it to you one way or another if they don't like you.  It is what they do.

It is only 85 right now which is a nice change but still humid.  Yuck, not a fan of humid!  I didn't get to workout all week last week and it is really starting to take its toll on me.  I have a workout partner but they have been so very much slacking and negative about it all I am starting to think I will be going it a lone from now on which stinks, I don't do as well when it is just me.  Oh well, move on, whatever.

I think that will be my response to everything this week.....HA!

No pictures today, sorry, I will try and do better about that.

and we can do nothing to change it,

So not a lot more to talk about.  Friday night a bunch of us went out to Black Oak for dinner by the lake and to celebrate Sally & Ralph's engagement.  I was really surprised, Donna, Darla, David and John even came.  (They never get out)  I think they had a good time though.  There were 15+ there as well has mom's best friend from Ohio, Jo.  She and mom have been friends a very long time.  Donna and Darla were up dancing and caring own which was just neat since they never even come out to dinner.  The music wasn't bad although it was beyond hot and humid.  Hurry it up Fall!

I have not done a whole lot of anything today.  I have been working on my new Ad.  Hopefully it will be ready and turned in for the October issue of HELLO! Morristown Magazine.  I am doing a half page ad so I have just been working on getting it laid out and such.  I don't think I will make many more changes to it at this point.  Or maybe that is just my tired eyes talking....lol

I decided to take a break while it wasn't raining and only 90 outside to lay out on the swing for a bit.  Gracie enjoyed the short lived breeze and then decided to join me on the swing...ha ha she is a funny critter.  Oh course as the humidity started to take its toll on me the neighbors decided to toss out the little wiener dog who clearly does not enjoy being outside alone so once my peace and quite dwindled away I decided it was time to come in.  I love animals but I am just not a fan of nonstop barking or yelping.  Oh well.  Enjoyed it while it lasted.  I think tonight will be outdoor movie night under the fans of course!  Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Enjoying the short lived breeze..

Joining me for nap time on the swing....

Ha ha...she is funny!
